Un fotografo di strada dal nome complicato: Tavepong Pratoomwong

Il fotografo che vi presento oggi, ha un nome piuttosto complicato ed è uno dei migliori fotografi di strada in circolazione: si chiama Tavepong Pratoomwong, ed è thailandese.

Di seguito vi propongo una selezione delle sue immagini più rappresentative. Per il mio gusto personale, ho selezionato quelle a colori, ma ha scattato anche in bianco e nero. Io lo trovo davvero bravissimo. Voi cosa dite?

Tavepong è nato nel 1981 a Chanthaburi, in Thailandia. Da sempre appassionato di fotografia, la sua formazione fotografica include una laurea alla Rangsit University.

Gradualmente però perde interesse per la fotografia praticata fino al 2013, quando la moglie gli regala un biglietto aereo per Varanasi, che fa riaffiorare antiche passioni ed è la svolta della sua carriera di fotografo di strada.

Da li, Tavepong non si è più fermato e ha ricominciato a scattare 365 giorni l’anno, da cui il nome di uno dei suoi progetti.

Le sue immagini raccontano la vita ordinaria, cogliendo attimi spesso surreali, a volte ironici . L’estetica e la composizione a mio parere sono perfette.
