Furkan Temir è nato nel 1995 in una piccola città nella Turchia Orientale. Dopo aver trascorso gli anni della sua adolescenza a Sivas e Bursa, ha vinto una borsa di studio per il dipartimento di cinema all’Università di Sehir e si è tarsferito a Istanbul. A quel tempo aveva sviluppato interesse verso il fotogiornalismo e aveva viaggiato diverse volte nel suo paese e all’estero per i suoi progetti. Durante il suo primo anno all’università, le sue fotografie sono state pubblicate da media internazionali, quali The Guardian, CNN International, Stern e Paris Match.

All’età di 17 anni, aveva definitivametne deciso che questo era il alvoro che avrebbe voluto fare per il resto della sua vita, al confine con la Siria, dove si era recato a fotografare.A causa delle sue assenze, è stato allontanato dall’università e ha dovuto trasferirsi in un altro dipartimento di cinema.All’età di 19 anni è andato in Iraq per la prima volta e a 20 anni ha cominciato un progetto sulla città siriana di Kobane.

Il suo scopo principale è di utilizzare tecniche differenti, pittura, video, fotografia, installazioni per eseguire lavori incentrati sulle minoranze, in Medio Oriente e nella regione dove vive.

Furkan Temir was born in a small town near Eastern Turkey in 1995. After spending his childhood years in Sivas and Bursa, he earned a scholarship for the cinema department in Sehir University and moved to Istanbul. By that time, he has developed an interest on photojournalism and has traveled many times in his country and to abroad for his projects. During his first year in University his photography was published in international media outlets such as The Guardian, CNN International, Stern and Paris Match.   By the time he turned seventeen, he definitely decided that this is the kind of work to do for the rest of his life, in the Syria border where he went for photography. Because of his absence, he was dismissed from the University and had to transfer to another cinema department. When he was nineteen he went to Iraq for the first time and at the twenties he started to make a project about Syria’s Kobane city. His main aim is using different techniques painting, video, photography, installation to do works focused on minorities, in Middle East and the region he lives.
