Onodera Yuki

Yuki Onodera was born in Tokyo (1962). In 1993, she established a studio in Paris and began to work internationally. Onodera’s experimental work, which does not fit within schemas of “photography,” often poses two questions: what is photography, and what can be done through it? She uses any possible method to realize her works, whether this means taking photographs with a marble inside her camera, or creating a story out of a legend and traveling to the ends of the earth to shoot it. Onodera is known for making two-meter-high prints in the darkroom, painting on her photographs, and for other original hands-on methods. Her work is held in collections around the world, including those of Centre Georges Pompidou, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The J. Paul Getty Museum, Shanghai Art Museum and The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. Among other locations, her solo exhibitions have been held at The National Museum of Art, Osaka (2005), Shanghai Art Museum (2006), The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (2010), The Museum of Photography, Seoul (2010) and Musée Nicéphore Niépce, France (2011).

Takehito Miyatake

Hime Botaru (Princess) Fireflies Flicker in the Woods, Japan, 2013 A flight of hime botaru fireflies (Hotaria parvula), or ‘princess fireflies,’ in the woods flicker together in a warm, orange hued light. Locals call them ‘golden fireflies.’ Although each one is only about 5mm in size, the flight can create a spectacle that seems to come from a fairy tale world.

 Tokihiro Sato

Tokihiro Satō (佐藤 時啓, Satō Tokihiro^?, born in September 14, 1957 in Sakata, Yamagata Japan) is a Japanese photographer. Sato is best known for his unusual expressions of light and space and interpretations of performance and dance. Receiving his MFA and BFA in Music and Fine Arts from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1981, Sato was originally a trained sculptor, but decided to go with photography to better communicate his ideas.

Recognized for his playful interaction of light, Sato uses a large-format camera for exposures that last from one to three hours, while he moves through the space creating points of light or illuminated lines drawn with flashlights or flashes made by reflecting mirrors. The results are detailed photographs interrupted by patterns of light.^[1] And because of the long exposures, Sato’s movements across the scene remain undetectable by the camera; the photograph captures his presence but not his image.

Hamada

Il fotografo ricrea con materiali grezzi, paesaggi che potrebbero sembrare europei.

Born in Osaka, Japan, Hamada started to photograph seriously at the age of 18. He went on to graduate from the Department of Photography at the well-established Nihon University’s College of Art, and has also studied under master photographers Eikoh Hosoe and Issei Suda.

 

Motoyuki Daifu

Nato nel 1985 , Motoyuki Daifu vive a Kanagawa , in Giappone. Ha alle spalle numerose pubblicazioni tra cui Lovesody ( Little Big Man Libri, 2012) e Progetto di famiglia ( Dashwood Books , 2013 ).
