Quasi tutti i laghi hanno il loro Mostro.
E’ il bisogno di dare un nome ad una presenza familiare.
Quella del Lago per coloro che lo abitano è forte e determinante, non si può ignorare, detta i tempi della vita della comunità, del carattere, degli umori e dei vizi delle persone.
Nessuno ammette l’esistenza del Mostro, ma troppi dicono di aver visto qualcosa muoversi tra le onde, di aver sentito un verso sconosciuto. Quasi sempre d’inverno, quando questi posti sanno essere davvero cupi e solitari.
Si può amare il Lago, si può arrivare a detestarlo, ma ci si torna sempre.
L’ acqua è lo specchio delle nostre anime, il Mostro la proiezione dei nostri drammi.

Most all lakes have their own Monster.
That is the human need to name a familiar presence.
For those who live by a lake, the presence is powerful and overwhelming,
it cannot be ignored: it sets the pace of their lives, of their tempers,
their moods and their flaws.
None of them acknowledge that the Monster exists, but too many of them say that they have seen something bobbing
in the waves, that they have heard an unfamiliar call. It happens in winter, most of the times, when these places can be very gloomy and lonely.
One can love the Lake, one can even come to loathe it, but one always comes back.
Water is the mirror of our souls, the Monster is the projection of our tragedies.
